
Steven Leas
Steven Leas started singing at the age of 12 in choirs and has
performed in various stage productions.
He was appointed as the Cantor of the Linkfield-Senderwood
Hebrew Congregation in South Africa, a position he held for six
years. He has sung at numerous synagogues around the world
including America, London, Israel and Australia. He was also a
member and soloist of the Johannesburg Male Voice Choir.
He was selected by the South African Broadcast Corporation
to explain the role of the Cantor to the South African
Television Public, and has performed with the NAPOP (The
Pretoria Orchestra) and also in Israel with the Ra'anana Symphonette.
Steven moved to London in 2002 with his wife, Ruth, and is currently studying
voice production with Raymond Connell. He is a member and
soloist of the London Jewish Male Choir and the Neimah Choir.
